It’s hard to say whether the years are kind or unkind.

Having marched down the street like John Henry looking for something evil to do, it had to be the bank that hove into sight. Regular people in regular towns do tend to have a bank on their main street. Robbing it would not make him a regular person.
Even in the confusion of his anger, he accepted:— this is not the best preparation. But continued anyway.
